On Sunday I had a plan to go to a dirt bike race in Grand Junction and take tons and tons of great pictures of my friends and other riders on the track. That plan was lost due to a miscommunication about the start time and race format (I thought there would be several races with qualifiers and such starting at 9am… turned out to be one large race starting exactly at 9. Won’t make that mistake again..).
On the way back to town, Hubby and I decided to take a detour into Escalante Canyon, where neither of us had been before. It was Way cooler than I though it would be. Streams and cliffs and pasture took the place of the rolling adobe hills that were in my mind. We were looking for a place to turn around and head back out when we pulled into the driveway to an old abandoned cabin from the early 1900’s.
Naturally I had to go inside…
More pictures from this place will be featured in my ‘Abandoned Spaces’ creativity challenge in a few months..
